Tom lives and breathes business analysis. Throughout his illustrious career as a software engineer, he became convinced that coding was simple; comprehension of the business need was not. As he evolved from developer to systems analyst to business analyst, he has continually found new and better ways for the business community and IT to communicate. He has worked throughout his career to define and develop business analysis tools and techniques that facilitate that communication. He has been a keynote speaker at several International Institute of Business Analysis IIBA® conferences, authored innumerable blog posts, published a monthly newsletter, and developed dozens of training courses on topics related to business analysis. As a facilitator and instructor, Tom brings a professional but friendly presentation style and a burning desire to share his wealth of knowledge about all aspects of business analysis. Currently a Managing Member of BAEXPERTS, Tom established and managed Hathaway & Associates, LLC. from 1986 – 2010. He was also a founding member and managing partner of the Requirements Solutions Group, LLC.
